October 2021 CBCAP PLC: TANF and PEAF Resources to Assist Needy Families

Federal staff from the Office of Family Assistance provide information about the range of benefits and services that states, territories, and tribes provide to families through their Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs as well as through the Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund (PEAF).

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 established the $1 billion PEAF program to assist needy families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. PEAF dollars can be used to provide certain non-recurrent, short term benefits to eligible families through Fiscal Year 2022.
