Over 60% of adults in the US have a disability of some kind, many of which can make websites like FRIENDS challenging and consequently limit full participation in our work and community. FRIENDS has added the Recite Me toolbar to our website as an expression of our ongoing commitment to ensure that our prevention resources are accessible to all.

What is the FRIENDS resource for making our website more accessible?
The Recite Me toolbar allows every visitor to FRIENDS website access to the information, resources and stories they are looking for. The comprehensive Recite Me toolbar works across all devices and offers a unique range of functions ensuring that our work is accessible to all. You can use it to:
- Read website text aloud (including PDFs)
- Download the text as an MP3 file to play it where and when it suits you
- Change font sizes and colors
- Customize background color
- Translate text into more than 100 different languages
- Access a fully integrated dictionary and thesaurus
How do I access the Recite Me toolbar?
You can open the Recite Me language and accessibility toolbar below or by clicking on 
on any page or by clicking ACCESSIBLITY in the top right corner of the page.
After you click, the Recite Me toolbar opens and displays a range of different options for customizing the way the website looks and ways you can interact with the content.
How do I use the various options on the Recite Me toolbar?
Our website is equipped with Recite Me language and accessibility tools to make it more accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible. Below you will find a guide to using all of the features on the Recite Me toolbar.
Play Audio
Rewind to the previous paragraph of text
Click the Play button to read the text aloud
Skip forward to the next paragraph of text
Color, Ruler, & Screen Mask
Change the background, text, and link colors
Click to enable the reading ruler
Will create a letterbox for focused viewing of a section of the page
Audio Download & Magnifier
Highlight the text then click the button to download the text as an audio file
Click and drag the magnifying glass to magnify text on the screen
Turn off Recite Me
Clicking this at the top right will close the Recite Me tools
Text Options
This will decrease the text size
You can change the font that displays on the page
Turn on focus text to improve readability
This will increase the text size
Dictionary, Translation, Plain Text
Highlight and click on this to view the definition of the word
Translate text into a different language
Remove images to view content in plain text mode

Adjust your Recite Me toolbar settings
Restore the default settings
