October 2022 CBCAP PLC – The Trestle Fund Project: Concrete Supports for NH Families
Children thrive when their material needs are met, and they have safe, stable, nurturing relationships with caregivers. Parents and caregivers thrive when they can provide for their children and have access to material and financial supports in times of need.
Public benefit programs such as SNAP and FANF provide some relief to low-income families. However, these programs are out of reach for many struggling families whose earnings exceed income limits, and often those who do qualify face systems barriers and delays in accessing available resources.
Over the last two years, the existing systemic barriers compounded by Covid-19 and the Pandemic response, an increasingly volatile economy, and rising inflation have pushed NH families into economic turmoil. In response, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, New Hampshire Children’s Trust, and NH’s Family Resource Center Network established a partnership to support the growing number of families experiencing financial hardship. The Trestle Fund Concrete Supports for NH Families pilot project, launched statewide in January 2022, providing low-barrier financial assistance to NH families in need. This webinar covers the how, the why as well as the project’s outcome yielded to date.
