May 2013-Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, The Positive Impact of Partnerships

Darkness to Light was created as a nonprofit with the mission of reducing the incidence of child sexual abuse through public awareness and education. With tremendous community support, over $100,000 was raised and an award-winning media campaign was developed and launched. Today Darkness to Light has more than 3,500 Facilitators who teach the "Stewards of Children" program in 49 states and 15 additional countries and more than 300,000 copies of the Stewards of Children curriculum have been distributed and the program is also available in Spanish and Icelandic.

• Ways that parents, organizations, schools and faith can become a “PIP” and begin partnering in
prevention
• Highlight “feet on the street”-TN Children’s Advocacy Center and Prevent Child Abuse TN will talk about
how CBCAP funded Stewards for Children and its implication on the statewide initiative.
