March's CBCAP Peer Learning call, we learn more about the National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day, and hear about updates to the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIEC).

Lisa Rubenstein, a public health advisor at SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services will discuss National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day (May 3, 2011), which is a key strategy of the Caring for Every Child's Mental Health Campaign. The Campaign seeks to raise awareness about the importance of children's mental health and that positive mental health is essential to a child's healthy development from birth. This year, the national theme will focus on building resilience in young children dealing with trauma. You will learn about a variety of resources and techniques to ensure that mental health awareness is coordinated at the state and local levels. Melissa Brodowski will then provide updates on the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIEC), and answer any questions regarding CBCAP lead’s role in the MIEC program.
