This was the second session in the Working with Diverse Populations series. It focused on grandparents raising grandchildren specifically in response to the expressed need of the CBCAP SLA’s for more information about the needs of this population. We were honored to have Ana and Pat share their wisdom around the needs of grandparents who find themselves in the position of raising their grandchildren. They shared the particular challenges grandparents face when caring for their grandchildren and the supports that would be helpful.

Participants were provided with information on the specific outreach and engagement issues to consider as well as specific model programs and practices that work. Existing national, state and local resources/funding sources to link with and/or refer grandparents were highlighted.
